Dr. Caryn Davis is a California native. As a military dependant, her
family moved to Virginia in 1960. She graduated with honors from Frank W.
Cox High School in Virginia Beach. In 1981 she graduated from Old Dominion
University in Norfolk, Cum Laude, with a degree in Dental Hygiene.
Dr. Davis practiced dental hygiene in Virginia Beach and Richmond for six
years. During this time, Dr. Davis attended The Medical College of Virginia
and graduated in 1987 with her D.D.S., Cum Laude. While at MCV, Dr. Davis
received a number of awards for academic and clinical excellence.
Dr. Davis practiced general dentistry in Virginia Beach for two years. In
1989, she moved to Venice and married Dr. Charles Davis. Dr. Caryn Davis
established and operated a private dental practice specializing in geriatric
dentistry until 1995. She has been with Dr.'s Davis, and Beyer,
Dental Health Professionals, since 1996.
Dr. Davis has completed a significant number of continuing professional
education courses and seminars. She is a member of The American Dental
Association, The Florida Dental Association, The West Coast Dental
Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The International Congress of Oral
Implantologists, The Sarasota Dental Study Club, and The Sarasota Implant Study Club.
Dr. Davis is a member and former vice president of The Venice Area Women's League and is a member and former vice president of The Sorento Woods Neighborhood Association.

Dr.
Davis has been with the practice since 1988. His
undergraduate education includes studies at The University of
Miami, The University of Salzburg, and a degree in chemistry
from The University of Richmond.
He
received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Medical College
of Virginia. He did graduate training in anatomy and
research in local anesthetics at MCV Hospital. After
dental school Dr. Davis did a General Practice Hospital
Residency at Shands Hospital, The University of Florida.
His hospital residency included all aspects of dentistry,
anesthesiology, and treatment of medically compromised and
geriatric patients. Dr. Davis has also taken advanced
training in anesthesia at Montefiore Hospital, Albert Einstein
Medical College in New York City.
Dr.
Davis has completed a number of continuing education courses in
all phases of general dentistry. He is a graduate of The
Misch Dental Implant Institute at The University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Davis is a fellow of The International Congress of Oral
Implantologists. Dr. Davis is licensed to administer
conscious sedation and has surgical privileges at The Venice
Healthpark Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Dr.
Davis is a member of The American Dental Association, Florida
Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Academy of
General Dentistry, Sarasota Dental Study Club, Sarasota Implant
Study Club, and The International Congress of Oral
Implantologists.

Dr.
Brent Beyer moved to Venice in 1994 from Reading, Pennsylvania.
He was educated in local schools in Reading and graduated in
1980 from Lafayette College in Easton, PA with a degree in
biology. While at Lafayette, Dr. Beyer lettered in football for
four years.
Dr.
Beyer received his dental degree from Temple University in
Philadelphia. This was followed by a general practice residency
at St. Joseph Hospital in Reading. After his residency, Dr.
Beyer was in solo practice for eight years. During that time he
was involved as a preceptor in The General Practice Dental
Residency Program at St. Joseph Hospital. He joined Dr. Davis
and Dr. Higel in 1995.
Dr.
Beyer has completed several hundred hours of continuing
education courses. He is particularly interested in cosmetic
dentistry; and, this summer he completes an advanced continuum
in esthetic dentistry at The University of Florida College of
Dentistry in Gainesville. This program is eligible for
Mastership and Fellowship in The Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr.
Beyer is licensed in Pennsylvania and Florida. He is a member of
The American Dental Association, The Florida Dental Association,
The West Coast Dental Association, The Sarasota Dental Study
Club, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and
The Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr.
Beyer is a member of Venice Sertoma Club and is active in Boy
Scouts.
