Our Dentists
Dr. Charles Davis
Dr. Davis has been with the practice since 1988. His undergraduate education includes studies at The University of Salzburg, and a degree in chemistry from The University of Richmond.
He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Medical College of Virginia. He did a graduate training in anatomy and research in local anesthetics at MCV Hospital. After dental school, Dr. Davis did a General Practice Hospital Residency at Shands Hospital, The University of Florida. His hospital residency included all aspects of dentistry, anesthesiology, and treatment of medically compromised and geriatric patients. Dr. Davis has also taken advanced training in anesthesia at Montefiore Hospital, Albert Einstein Medical College in New York City.
Dr. Davis has completed a number of continuing education courses in all phases of general dentistry. He is a graduate of The Misch Dental Implant Institute at The University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Davis is a fellow of The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Davis is licensed to administer conscious sedation and has surgical privileges at The Venice Healthpark Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Dr. Davis is a member of The American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Sarasota Dental Study Club, Sarasota Implant Study Club, and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Brent Beyer
Dr Brent Beyer moved to Venice in 1994 from Reading, Pennsylvania. He was educated in local schools in Reading and graduated in 1980 from Lafayette College in Easton, PA with a degree in Biology. While at Lafayette, Dr. Beyer lettered in football for four years.
Dr. Beyer received his dental degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. This was followed by a general practice residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Reading. After his residency, Dr. Beyer was in solo private practice for eight years. During that time, he was involved as a preceptor in the General Practice Dental Residency Program at St. Joseph Hospital. He joined the practice of Dr. Davis and Dr. Higel in 1994.
Dr. Beyer has completed several hundred hours of continuing education courses in general, cosmetic, and reconstructive dentistry. He is particularly interested in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He completed an advanced continuum in esthetic dentistry at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville. Dr. Beyer has also completed a twelve-month dental implant training program at the American Dental Implant Training Center in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Beyer is licensed in Florida and Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association and Sarasota County Dental Society. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Fellow of the American Dental Implant Association.
Dr. Kaya Aygen
Dr. Aygen joined the practice in 2008. He grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate studies in Microbiology. He was in the Honors Program and completed research in anaerobic bacteria that led to scientific publication.
Dr. Aygen received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) in 2003 from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville. He did graduate research in salivary diseases in the Department of Oral Biology to help people that suffer from dry mouth. The University of Florida Foundation named him an Outstanding Student. He is a huge Gators fan!
He has practiced at family and cosmetic dental practices in Chicago and Washington, D.C. before he and his wife moved back to the Venice area.
Dr. Aygen believes in staying current with the ever-changing field of dentistry. He has completed numerous post-graduate courses and programs in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. He in Invisalign certified and has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry. He is licensed to provide IV sedation to anxious patients after an intense training program at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He has also completed an advanced curriculum of courses in advanced esthetics and occlusion at the Spear Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Aygen is a member of The American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Sarasota County Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Sharks Tooth Study Club.
