At Venice's Davis and Beyer, Patients Are Family

THE STORIED VENICE PRACTICE HAS DEEP ROOTS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND A PASSION FOR THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY

Friendly, caring, and knowledgeable, the finely trained dentists, estheticians, and staff at Davis & Beyer work hard to make their patients feel like family. With many decades of service to Venice, Davis & Beyer has deep roots in our community, and it shows. The thriving practice offers dentistry in all its forms—from simple cleanings to cutting edge cosmetic and restorative dental work—as well as exceptional facial and spa services. Davis & Beyer patients can always count on being treated with the latest technology, innovations in tooth and skin care, and the friendliness and attention that has made the practice an award-winning leader in our region. At Davis & Beyer, patients’ health and needs always come first. It’s a team effort at this elite practice, one that results in gorgeous skin and beautiful smiles.

Dr. Brent Beyer, DDS

Dr. Beyer joined the practice in 1995, when it was Higel & Davis. The history of the practice is of interest to Dr. Beyer, as it shows how long excellent dentistry has been practiced by Davis & Beyer.

“We were founded in the 1950s by Dr. Duke of the Duke family who owned Duke’s Garden Center,” Dr. Beyer explains. “In the 1960s as Dr. Duke’s practice grew, Dr. Duke’s nephew, Dr. Higel, joined the practice. Dr. Higel’s family helped establish Venice and has been in the region since the 1800s. In 1988, Dr. Higel brought in Dr. Davis, and then I joined, and the rest is history. Our practice has always had a clear philosophy. Simply put, we do our very best for each and every individual who comes to us for care. We treat our older patients as we would treat our parents; like family. That’s our philosophy. Based on our patient loyalty, it absolutely works. Our patients often tell their friends about their good experience, and word of mouth has always been great to us.”

Father of four adult sons and married to Rhonda, Dr. Beyer enjoys travel and sports—he played football during his undergraduate years at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, and one of his sons played minor league baseball for the Detroit Tigers.

“My goal is to make my patients feel good about their teeth,” says Dr. Beyer, a cosmetic and implant dentist.

Dr. Charles Davis, DDS

As with all of the dentists and staff at Davis & Beyer, Dr. Davis stays ahead of the technological curve to keep the practice at the very cutting edge of new treatments and procedures. To that end, he is always looking to invest in the equipment needed to provide the best dental care available in our region.

“We have a motto at Davis & Beyer,” Dr. Davis explains. “It’s ‘Excellence By Choice.’ We practice excellence because we choose to. We each work hard everyday to stay abreast of breakthroughs in our fields, master the new technologies, and use them to improve our patients’ teeth and skin. We take good care of our staff as well. It’s why we have patients who have been coming to us for over 30 years, and why so many of our staff stay with us for decades. We care about each other as much as we do our patients. When you come to Davis & Beyer for treatment, you really will experience a total team effort.”

Dr. Davis has three daughters—one in dental school—and enjoys outdoor adventures like boating and scuba diving with his ‘better half’, Janel. He provides IV sedation for patient comfort and enjoys using the latest dental technology to provide the very best outcomes for the patients in his care. Among the technologies employed at Davis & Beyer are 3-D scanners, 3-D printers, an on-site mill for making crowns, intra-oral cameras, and much more.

“Our equipment is top-of-the-line,” Dr. Davis explains. “We use the X-Nav. It integrates a 3-D CAT scan of a patient’s teeth so that we are able to make our treatments absolutely precise, to within a fraction of a millimeter. The X-Nav is like a GPS system for my surgical drill. It places everything I do with extreme precision. I followed the technology in development for years and bought it as soon as the FDA approved it. That’s what we do here at Davis & Beyer. We strive to offer our patients the very best in every way.”

Dr. Frank Lewicki, DMD

The most recent addition to the storied Davis & Beyer practice, Dr. Frank Lewicki’s emphasis is in restorative dentistry, focusing on helping patients with dental issues that can leave them embarrassed to smile at all. “What I enjoy best about being at Davis & Beyer,” Dr. Lewicki says, “is the opportunity to help people regain their confidence and sense of well-being. A job well done to me is when the work is finished and the patient sees their new smile for the first time. They are so happy and confident that they just smile and smile. In that sense, I simply love making my patients smile.”

Married to Lauren, Dr. Lewicki is father to triplets—Brooke, Luke and Jake—now ten years old. He and his wife enjoy going to the gym and running.

A graduate of Tufts University in Boston, Dr. Lewicki first went to work in dentistry on Cape Cod. But the cold winters sent him and Lauren fleeing for Florida.

“We were snowed in for four days on Cape Cod,” Dr. Lewicki says and laughs. “It wasn’t long before we joined Davis & Beyer. We really love it here. And we love our philosophy of truly treating our patients like family.”

Covid Protocols

To address Covid-19, Davis & Beyer has made many changes to its office and practice. Investments have been made in air purifiers and doors have been installed in all treatment rooms. Special attention was paid to ventilation; all of the work was done during the April statewide lockdown. The doctors and staff are equipped with full PPE including N-95 masks and face shields. Patients wait in the their vehicles until their rooms are ready, and once called in, are provided with masks. Temperatures are taken and all CDC guidelines are carefully followed. High-risk individuals are encouraged to call ahead and speak with the doctors. Davis & Beyer is concerned and attentive to the health and safety of all of its patients, as well as its doctors and staff.
